High Definition Imaging plus Analysis for Detection and Management of Glaucoma and Retinal Disease

Dr. John P. Boscia is pleased and excited to offer his patients a new, advanced test to evaluate the health of your eyes. With the recent purchase of the Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT (High Definition-Ocular Coherence Tomography) instrument, Dr. Boscia’s patients will benefit from this state-of-the-art technology. The Cirrus is the newest development in cross-sectional imaging of the retina. The HD-OCT, with its spectral domain technology and resolution of just five microns, delivers sophisticated high-definition images of the ocular structures. With this information, the doctor can identify the early signs of eye disorders, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy, and can assess the need for further treatment or testing. Since age is a critical risk factor for the development of these eye conditions, and since they tend to progress without any painful symptoms in their early stages, it is imperative to get tested for these conditions early with the Cirrus HD-OCT.
